Virginia Ghost Stories & Haunted Places

On the evening of January 8, 1959 a tragedy occurred on Holston Mountain on The edge of the Virginia and Tennessee border. A plane carrying ten people crashed into the mountain killing all on board. But the question remains: If everyone on board was dead, who was shining the light that brought the rescuers?

Westover Plantation in Charles City County, Virginia is a shining example of the architecture of the 1700s. But as lovely as the house is, the grounds are walked by a ghost with a broken heart. Evelyn Byrd still haunts the plantation grounds hoping to heal the sorrow she bore in life.

Ghostly sounds of children at play and a vault lock that never rusted nor stayed locked for more than a day or so are at the heart of this story which takes place at Colross, one of the largest and most beautiful houses ever built in Alexadria, Virginia.
